9AM / 2PM : Start your day at the Sorbonne University, a ancient building founded in 1212. It is the third oldest university in Europe and still the most prestigious parisian one : the perfect spot to start feeling local and witness the everyday life ! Stroll down the historical roman hill and get some amazing views on the old streets and narrow passages. The monks used to live here. They were the ones teaching the first students in the Middle Ages ! Some modern surprises will also astonish you. Trust your host to point out these secret spots.
10AM / 3PM : Reach the river Seine ; without it, Paris city would not exist. Hear about the first settlers and step on the most famous student square and gathering place, St Michel's, filled with typical bookshops. You are now in the very center of the capital, marked by the Notre Dame Cathedral figure. Your parisian expert will show you the best views on the cathedral and even if the building was heavily damaged a year ago, you will be witness to the fact that it has not lost its grandeur and elegance. Admire its remaining arches, gargoyles and the two magnificient towers. After paying our grievious hommage to the maimed cathedral from as close as possible, let's reach the second central parisian island, St Louis. Why not taste the best ice cream in Paris at Berthillon's ? They have excentrics delicious creations such as strawberry-basil or chocolate-orange. Stroll the island, where many famous french actors have elected to live, and spot the private mentions of the 1600s.
11AM / 4PM : Cross the river Seine and leave the St Louis Island to reach the right bank, we say it is where parisians spend the most ! Your guide will show your some of the best restored Middle Ages monuments and authentic 1000 years old city walls ! One the most exclusive and hidden spots will be the cherry on the cake of this walk when you reach Place des Vosges.
11.30AM / 4.30 PM : End your tour at one of the most delightful authentic residential spots, the St Paul square. Here, many parisians gather to meet for a morning coffee, to share lunch or a social evening drink. It has one the best bakeries in town and many food and shopping options. Your host will point out any information you might need, from artistic unique shirts to croissants or foie gras or even Eiffel Tower's hairbrushes !
